Artist/Gallery notes
We hired a boat, launched it at a boat ramp in Guildford and made our way to Fremantle for lunch. By evening the sea breeze had died down. It was hot and still as we made our way back up the narrowing river. The banks closed in on us and the dying embers of the sun could be seen through the tangled undergrowth and the silent house beyond. Tired and relaxed after a long day on the water, I could almost see the glowing eyes of a tiger watching us from the dark thorned thicket. "Burning bright in the forest of the night" - Kipling
