'During my stay in Issan in the NE of Thailand I experimented with childlike paintings of flowers. Children's paintings can be extraordinarily beautiful. Its interesting that the power and impact of a painting increases with the crudeness of the work. I would like to do some paintings in this style on a very large scale with big sweeping brush strokes. This painting will dominate the room in which it is hung, hopefully filling it with the freshness and excitement of a child's flowers.
