Artist/Gallery notes

This is loosely based on a sketch I did from the Kailis restaurant at Fishing Boat Harbour at Fremantle. I had sardines and sat under the brightly coloured umbrellas. The boats in the background are the Kailis fishing fleet. I was interested in the colours and shapes of the umbrellas contrasting with the lines of the floorboards. The dark shadows and brilliant sunshine. At the jetty on the left there is someone playing the piano. There wasn't really a piano, but I felt that there should have been.
