Rottnest lies somewhere between the surreal and the scenery. I' m not sure where. Wild beasts and the flames of a feral tree hold together the disparate faces of the island. Perhaps it is all the same. The streets and people the beaches and promontories. All real and all imagined but all experienced through the eyes of the artist.
