Fishing Boat Harbour, the Esplanade and the dark background of Norfolk Island Pines. The childlike style and degree of abstraction gives this painting a power which is difficult to achieve through other means. The poles and boat in the foreground provide strength and stability which contrasts with the restless movement of the distant fishing fleet and the savage pines. Condiments are provided through the peppered patterns of car tyres and windows in black pizzazz.
