I sat on top of the breakwater that runs around Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle and looked out across to the distant wharves with their background of Norfolk Island Pines. As so often in Western Australia, the view seemed limitless and I tried to capture the expanse of the harbour with its scribbled lines of untidy boats, the boulders of the breakwater and beyond the Indian Ocean
